Red Kite Cottages Response to Covid-19
To tackle the spread of coronavirus, the Welsh Government made the Corona virus Restrictions Regulations in March 2020. These imposed strict restrictions on gatherings, the movement of people, and the operation of businesses (some of which were required to close). The Welsh Government prioritises the protection of people, and with this aim, is following a cautious approach to easing lockdown and reopening workplaces. The safety, health, and well-being of everyone is of paramount importance to us. Self Catering Cottages were then allowed to re-open from July 09th 2020, however we as a business decided not to open so early.
Coronavirus will be with us until an effective vaccine is available or there is enough immunity among the population. As lockdown restrictions ease, general rules around social distancing and hand washing will remain important in reducing the risk of transmission. We have therefore taken reasonable measures to minimise the risk of exposure to COVID-19. The Welsh Governments Test, Trace, Protect strategy will be key in controlling the spread of new outbreaks, particularly as public spaces start to re-open.
When you travel throughout your holiday please make sure that you:
- Take all reasonable measures to ensure that a distance of 2 metres between all persons is maintained where practicable.
- Ensure that other reasonable measures are taken to minimise risk of exposure to the virus, in particular by limiting close face-to-face interaction and by improving hand washing and respiratory hygiene.
Contact tracing is an important part of Test Trace Protect strategy which will help us live and work alongside the virus while research continues to find more effective treatments and a vaccine. Our business has taken into account important policy guidance from the Welsh Government. This policy guidance describes the important role our business, as well as others plays in supporting contact tracing and keeping Wales safe.
Please therefore adhere to rules and regulation and keep a record of your whereabouts throughout your holiday. A log sheet is provided to keep records.
As the world adjusts to new travel norms and expectations, we are enhancing our cleaning routine by introducing new measures.
We are cleaning our Cottage with tough cleaning products including strong bleach, anti-bacterial and anti-viral cleaning fluids, including an anti-viral spray. We also have placed a strong sanitising Gel in an automatic dispenser in the kitchen which we would ask you all to use to clean your hands before you go out of the cottage and straight away when you return.

To enhance hygiene and safety in this new environment we introduced additional measures:
- Please bring your own washing up-liquid, toiletries and towels.
- The rear door key will be sanitised and placed in a small bag for you
- We removed from the cottage all considered as non-essential to minimise risks including information leaflets, ornaments, etc.
- Please contact us just before your arrival to finalise things and assist in ease of access.
- Please ensure you keep in touch and keep up to date with Welsh Corona Virus Regulations and wear PPE equipment such as masks where required
- Please ensure all bedding is placed in washable bags provided before leaving.
If you feel anyone in your group has these symptoms of Corona Virus:
- A high temperature
- A new or continuous cough
- A loss or change to your sense of taste or smell
Please advise us and arrange to get home as soon as possible and ensure you get a corona virus test.
We would like to thank you for staying with us in these unprecedented circumstances. We appreciate your support and co-operation in an effort to keep everybody safe.
