Local Food
Ceredigion produces a wealth of both organic and natural food products with some of Wales's finest food served in its hotels, restaurants, inns and country pubs. Menus include succulent Welsh lamb and beef and freshly caught seafood such as salmon, mackerel, lobster, trout and sewin. There is also a rich tradition in farmhouse dairy products, including: ice cream, cheese, yoghurt, cream and butter. Locally milled flour and baked breads can be found.
A range of local tasty beers are available and the smallest brewery in the world, Bragdy Gwynnant, is located nearby. You can also find a range of wines from local vineyards, Welsh whisky and gin. Ceredigion is also famous for its pure spring water. Treasured local delicacies also include preserves, pickles, fudge and honey. The nearest pubs are located in the villages of Pontrhydfendigaid and Ysbyty Yswyth, serving homemade dishes and fine drinks. Bilberries, blackberries, sorrel and field mushrooms are plentiful and ready to be picked when in season.
