Red Kite Cottages are accredited “Cycling Friendly” by Visit Wales for providing special facilities for cycling enthusiasts. Ceredigion offers an ever-expanding range of opportunities and facilities for cycling. There is a national cycle route which passes through Ffair Rhos along the B4343, and many cyclists and motorcyclists are attracted by this route. There are three designated Cycle Breaks which include: Aberareon to New Quay, Tregaron to Lampeter and the Cardigan Cycle Break. All chosen because of their special viewpoints and places of interest along the way. One of the world class Mountain Bike Wales Centres located on the A44 east of Aberystwyth in the Cambrian Mountains is located at Bwlch Nant Yr Arion Forest Centre. This provides over 35km of mountain trail bike routes offering a world class experience.
This includes: The Pendam Trail 9km track with some technically challenging sections, the demanding Summit Trail providing 16km of roller coaster biking over a purpose-built single-track trail, and the ultimate experience of the Ontinental Tyres Syfydrin Trail. This all located in exposed and remote countryside. The 28km Rheidol Cycle Trail leads along designated cycle paths between Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge. The Lon Cambria (Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 81) stretches 113miles from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. The Lon Teifi forming part of Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 82 linking Fishguard with Aberystwyth, via Tregaron, Lampeter, Llandysul and Newcastle Emlyn. Both route 81 and 82 connect at a junction located at the uplands of Cwmystwyth.
